Program Overview

Rebel Pedals is the bicycle sharing program of the University of Mississippi. Rebel Pedals was established to make the quality of student life better by giving students increased access to affordable bicycles, a healthy alternative to driving a car. Our mission is to promote bicycling as a desirable means of transportation in a greater effort to strengthen a culture of sustainability on campus.

By providing an accessible, cost-effective bike loan program to the University of Mississippi student body, Rebel Pedals provides a convenient way to get to class, encourages off-campus exploration, and promotes a healthy body and environment. Rebel Pedals is sponsored by the Associated Student Body, Ole Miss Outdoors, and the Office of Campus Sustainability.

Why semester rentals only?

Because of limited facility space, the Rebel Pedals organizers recognized that the program was not meeting its goal of providing easy, convenient access to short-term rentals. However, we also recognize there is a great need for many students to have access to a bicycle. We are actively exploring the possibility of bringing an automated bike check-out system to campus , which would meet the need for convenient short-term rentals.

We continue to evaluate the program and consider innovative ways to improve the efficiency and accessibility of the rental process.

RENTALS: Existing Rebel Pedals members are loaned a bike for the entire semester.

DUES: Rebel Pedals memberships cost $25 per semester.
